Automatic Horizontal Stretch Wrapper

OPERATIONAL SPECIFICATION Method of operation: Once ready for wrapping the pack is placed on the powered infeed conveyor, and the foot pedal is activated. According to the desired requirements a programme is pre-selected to ensure that the desired number of wraps are applied. This is done prior to the start of the cycle. The pack is conveyed into the wrapping machine and stopped to allow the first wraps to be applied to the end of the pack. Once the first wraps are completed, the grip and cut assembly releases the film, and the loose end is subsequently wrapped into the load by the following film overlaps. After the preset number of head wraps have been applied the conveyor restarts to automatically move the product through the machine to cover the product with the required amount of film. When the end of the product is detected the conveyor stops but the machine continues to apply film to the end section – the number of head and tail wraps is selectable. When the product is fully wrapped the machine grips and cuts the film off automatically. The other end of the film is retained in the grip assembly, ready to start the next wrap cycle. The product is then discharged from the machine via the driven belt conveyor. FEATURES: Forged steel film carriage dynamically balanced and belt driven to ensure smooth rotation and correct end of cycle positioning, even at high rotating speeds. Maximum rotation speed: 125 rpm. The film carriage is fitted with a constant braking roller to ensure even wrapping tension as the reel diameter changes.
